Season 1

In the season finale of "Invincible" Season 1, things get pretty intense when Mark Grayson, a.k.a. Invincible, finally confronts his father, Omni-Man, about his true intentions. Turns out, dear old dad isn't exactly the hero everyone thinks he is. Omni-Man reveals that he's actually from an alien race called the Viltrumites, who are more interested in conquering planets than saving them. Mark is understandably horrified by this revelation and refuses to join his father's plan to take over Earth. What follows is a brutal and emotional showdown between father and son. Omni-Man beats Mark to a pulp, demonstrating the vast difference in their power levels and leaving Mark nearly dead. In a moment of conflicted emotion, Omni-Man has a flashback to earlier family moments and decides not to kill Mark. Instead, he flies off into space, leaving Earth behind. The season wraps up with Mark recovering from his injuries and trying to figure out what comes next for him as both a hero and a person dealing with some serious family issues. Meanwhile, Earth is left to wonder about the looming Viltrumite threat.
