Episode Ending
In the first episode of "Loki," our favorite trickster god finds himself in a bit of a pickle after the events of "Avengers: Endgame." Loki, having nabbed the Tesseract during the Avengers' time heist, inadvertently creates a new timeline and gets himself arrested by the Time Variance Authority (TVA), an organization that manages the proper flow of time. After some bureaucratic shenanigans and facing charges for crimes against the sacred timeline, Loki meets TVA agent Mobius M. Mobius. Mobius believes Loki might be useful in helping to catch another variant that's been causing chaos across timelines. Loki gets a crash course on how his glorious purpose is more like a glorious flop, watching highlights of his life reel, including his eventual death at Thanos' hands. The episode wraps with Mobius showing Loki a glimpse of their problem: another Loki variant is out there causing trouble. And just like that, instead of being the villain of his own story, Loki is now on a new path — this time as a reluctant TVA recruit tasked with hunting down his mischievous doppelgänger.
