S1E2: The Variant

In "Loki" Season 1, Episode 2, the hunt for the rogue Loki variant leads the TVA to a Renaissance Fair in 1985 Oshkosh, Wisconsin. After an unsuccessful attempt to capture the variant, Loki and Mobius figure out that the variant is hiding in apocalypses, where their actions won't create new timelines. Their investigation takes them to a supermarket in Alabama during a hurricane in 2050. There, Loki and Mobius split up to search for the variant. Meanwhile, the rogue Loki has been body-hopping between different people and eventually reveals themselves as a female version of Loki. As the TVA agents confront her, she sets off a series of time reset charges that open multiple branches in the timeline, causing chaos at TVA headquarters. The episode ends with this female Loki stepping through a time portal, and despite Mobius's protests, our Loki follows her into the unknown, leaving his allegiances in question.
