Season 1

In the season finale of "The Simpsons" Season 1, titled "Some Enchanted Evening," Homer and Marge decide they need a night out to rekindle their romance. They hire a babysitter named Ms. Botz to look after Bart, Lisa, and Maggie while they're away. Of course, in true Simpson fashion, this plan doesn't go off without a hitch. Turns out Ms. Botz is actually "The Babysitter Bandit," a notorious criminal wanted for robbing homes while posing as a babysitter. Bart and Lisa discover her true identity after she ties them up and starts looting their house. The kids manage to escape and eventually subdue her, calling the police to report the crime. Meanwhile, Homer and Marge return home blissfully unaware of the chaos that unfolded in their absence. They find Ms. Botz tied up and unwittingly release her, thinking she's been wronged by their children. Only later do they realize their mistake when they see her on the news. Despite the mix-up, Homer is hailed as a hero for "capturing" her, and the family ends the episode with some semblance of normalcy restored—if that's ever really possible in Springfield.
