S1E2: Bart the Genius
Bart's labeled a genius and sent to a school for the gifted.
Episode Ending
In "Simpsonlar - S1E2: Episode 2," Bart Simpson decides to cheat on an intelligence test by switching his test with that of Martin Prince, the class brain. This brilliant move, or so Bart thinks, results in him being declared a genius. The school counselor recommends he be sent to a school for gifted children. Bart struggles to fit in at the new school, where his lack of actual genius becomes painfully obvious. He can't keep up with the other students and feels out of place. Meanwhile, his parents, Homer and Marge, begin to treat him differently, thinking they have a child prodigy on their hands. Eventually, Bart can't maintain the charade any longer and confesses to cheating. He returns to his old school, having learned a lesson about honesty and the trouble with being something you're not. In typical Bart fashion, though, it's unclear if he's learned enough to change his ways permanently.
