S1E7: The Call of the Simpsons

In "The Simpsons" Season 1, Episode 7, titled "The Call of the Simpsons," things wrap up in typical Springfield style. After Homer buys an RV and promptly gets it stuck in the wilderness, he and Bart end up lost while Marge and Lisa stay behind with the vehicle. Homer and Bart try their best to survive in the wild, which predictably goes awry. Homer is mistaken for Bigfoot by some campers after a series of unfortunate events leaves him looking rather wild. Meanwhile, Marge and Lisa manage to get rescued and are quite comfortable back in town. In the end, Homer is captured by scientists eager to study him as a Bigfoot specimen. After some tests, they release him, unable to conclusively determine whether he's human or Bigfoot. The family returns home, with Homer none too pleased about his new fame as a cryptid.
