Season 3

Season 3 of "The Simpsons" wraps up with the episode "Brother, Can You Spare Two Dimes?" In this finale, Homer's half-brother Herb Powell returns to Springfield. After some ups and downs, Herb successfully develops the translator and markets it, leading to his financial comeback. With his new wealth, Herb repays Homer by buying gifts for the family, including a vibrating chair for Homer and a fresh start for himself. The episode ends on a high note as Herb thanks the Simpsons for their support and leaves Springfield with renewed hope, setting off into the sunset in his limousine.
