S4E9: Mr. Plow
Homer and Barney become competitors in the snow-plowing business.
Episode Ending
In "Simpsons - S4E9: Mr. Plow," Homer buys a snowplow and starts a business called "Mr. Plow," saving Springfield from snowed-in driveways and becoming a local hero. But of course, it’s Springfield, so nothing stays rosy for long. Barney, inspired by Homer’s success, opens his own competing snowplow business, "The Plow King," and quickly undercuts Homer with better service. Homer's attempt to sabotage Barney by sending him on a dangerous plowing route up a mountain backfires when Barney survives and gains even more acclaim. In the end, Marge encourages Homer to reconcile with Barney, which he does by luring him into Moe’s Tavern with free beer. The two friends make up, and while Barney’s plow ends up destroyed in an avalanche, Homer’s business is essentially done for as the snow melts away. With Springfield back to normal, Homer returns to his old job at the power plant. The episode closes with a commercial parody featuring Adam West and Linda Ronstadt endorsing "The Plow King," rubbing salt in Homer’s wound just one last time for good measure.
