S4E12: Marge vs. the Monorail

In "Simpsonlar - S4E12: Marge vs. the Monorail," the episode concludes with Homer and Bart aboard the runaway monorail, which is speeding out of control due to a faulty brake system. As the monorail hurtles toward disaster, it's none other than Leonard Nimoy who provides a bit of narrative gravitas by showing up at the dedication ceremony. Meanwhile, Marge and Mr. Burns discover that the solar eclipse is causing the monorail to lose power, but that’s hardly helpful in stopping it. Homer, with some questionable assistance from his brain, tries various ways to stop the train, including using an anchor. Predictably, this fails spectacularly, causing chaos in the town as it snags buildings and vehicles. Fortunately, Homer gets a break when he uses a giant donut from a roadside attraction to slow down the monorail just enough to bring it to a safe stop. The episode wraps up with Springfield left to deal with yet another one of its civic disasters. The townspeople are left contemplating what could possibly go wrong next time they follow one of Lyle Lanley's schemes—though, knowing Springfield, lessons learned are likely short-lived. Leonard Nimoy then signs off with an inexplicable beam-out, because why not?
