S4E20: Whacking Day
Lisa takes a stand against Springfield's annual snake-bashing festival.
Episode Ending
In the episode "Whacking Day," Bart is expelled from school and ends up being homeschooled by Marge. Meanwhile, Springfield gears up for its annual Whacking Day festival, where the town gathers to club snakes. Lisa, being Lisa, is not thrilled about this tradition and starts questioning its morality. Bart, with his newfound knowledge from Marge's teaching, comes up with a plan to save the snakes. He and Lisa lure the snakes to safety using Barry White's deep voice and some strategically placed speakers. White himself makes a cameo, singing to help the snakes escape the wrath of the townspeople. The episode wraps up with the town realizing that Whacking Day is not such a great idea after all. Mayor Quimby, never one to miss a chance for some good PR, declares a new, snake-friendly day. Bart is reinstated in school, and all is well in Springfield — at least until the next episode.
