S4E21: Marge in Chains
Overwhelmed by her family's demands during a flu epidemic, Marge accidentally shoplifts at the Kwik-E-Mart and winds up in prison.
Episode Ending
In "Simpsonlar - S4E21," better known as "Marge in Chains," the Springfield community is swept up in a flu epidemic, with everyone getting sick after ordering a popular Japanese juicer. Marge, already stressed from taking care of her family, accidentally shoplifts a bottle of bourbon while picking up some groceries. Naturally, she gets caught and ends up in court. Despite Lionel Hutz's usual less-than-stellar defense, Marge is found guilty and sentenced to 30 days in jail. The family struggles without her, and chaos ensues at home—Homer's attempts at doing laundry are predictably disastrous. Meanwhile, the town starts to fall apart without Marge’s baked goods for the annual bake sale. In her absence, Springfield's beloved statue of Jebediah Springfield is vandalized. Marge returns just in time to bake an enormous cake to save the town's founding day celebration. The episode wraps up with everyone realizing how much they rely on Marge, and she’s welcomed back with open arms. Because, of course, it takes a stint in jail for everyone to appreciate her.
