S5E22: Secrets of a Successful Marriage
Homer teaches a class on marriage, but sharing secrets about his own union gets him kicked out of the house.
Episode Ending
In the episode titled "Secrets of a Successful Marriage," Homer Simpson, worried that Marge will think he's boring, decides to teach an adult education class on marriage. Naturally, Homer being Homer, he ends up spilling the beans on all sorts of personal secrets from his own marriage to keep the class entertained. This, unsurprisingly, doesn’t sit well with Marge when she finds out. Homer’s loose lips lead to a rift between him and Marge, who is understandably upset that he has been airing their dirty laundry in front of strangers. She kicks him out of the house, leaving Homer to fend for himself. In typical fashion, Homer makes a half-hearted attempt to live in the treehouse and is generally miserable without Marge. Realizing he needs to win Marge back, Homer makes a grand gesture by admitting he can’t function without her. He tells her that she completes him and that their marriage is more than just secrets; it’s about love and partnership. Marge forgives him, and they reconcile, bringing Homer back home where he belongs. As the credits roll, all seems right again in the Simpson household, at least until the next episode.
