S6E6: Treehouse of Horror V

In "The Simpsons" Season 6, Episode 6, titled "Treehouse of Horror V," we get treated to three separate stories in the traditional Halloween special format. The first story, "The Shinning," is a parody of "The Shining." Homer becomes the winter caretaker of Mr. Burns' remote lodge. When Mr. Burns cuts off the beer and television to ensure hard work, Homer loses his mind and goes after his family with an axe. Just as he's about to catch them, Lisa finds a portable TV, which calms him down. The family sits in the snow watching TV until they freeze. In the second segment, "Time and Punishment," Homer accidentally turns a toaster into a time machine. He travels back to prehistoric times and inadvertently alters the future multiple times by squashing insects. After several attempts to fix things, including a world where Ned Flanders is a tyrant and another where donuts rain from the sky, he settles for a reality where everything seems normal except for everyone having lizard tongues. The final story, "Nightmare Cafeteria," features Springfield Elementary dealing with overcrowding by turning students into lunch meat. Bart and Lisa discover that Principal Skinner and the teachers are behind this sinister plot. The students attempt to escape but end up in a vat of goo. The episode ends with a meta twist as the Simpsons family wakes up from their nightmares only to be enveloped by fog that turns people inside out, leading to a bizarre musical number.
