When Homer gropes for a gummy candy stuck to the babysitter's pants, she mistakes his intentions and turns the town against him.
Episode Ending
In "Simpsonlar - S6E9," also known as "Homer Badman," Homer finds himself embroiled in a public scandal. After attending a candy convention with Marge, Homer gives a ride home to the babysitter, Ashley Grant. In a classic Homer move, he innocently peels a rare gummy Venus de Milo off her pants, but she misinterprets his actions as harassment. The media, of course, goes wild. Homer is vilified on every talk show and news outlet imaginable, complete with an over-the-top TV special portraying him as a monster. Meanwhile, the family rallies behind him, with Lisa making an earnest attempt to prove his innocence. Finally, salvation comes from an unlikely source: Groundskeeper Willie. With his penchant for videotaping everything, he inadvertently captures footage proving Homer's innocence. The tape reveals Homer's candy obsession rather than any nefarious intent. The media quickly shifts its narrative, but not before leaving Homer and the audience a bit wary of public perception and its fickle nature.
