S6E18: A Star Is Burns
Film critic Jay Sherman is among the judges at the Springfield Film Festival, which Mr. Burns conspires to win by bribing some judges.
Episode Ending
In "Simpsonlar - S6E18," also known as "A Star is Burns," Springfield is hosting a film festival, and Jay Sherman, a film critic from New York, arrives to help judge the entries. Of course, Homer feels slighted because Marge didn't pick him as a judge, so he sets out to prove his worth in the most Homer way possible. As the festival unfolds, we see a series of ridiculous films made by Springfield's residents. Barney's artsy short film about alcoholism surprisingly captivates the audience, while Mr. Burns' extravagant epic falls flat despite all his attempts to buy the win. In the end, Barney's film wins the festival, much to Mr. Burns' chagrin. Homer is happy enough with the result after a heart-to-heart with Marge, who reassures him about his value beyond being a judge. Jay Sherman returns to New York, leaving Springfield to its usual shenanigans.
