Episode Ending
In "The Simpsons" Season 6, Episode 25, titled "Who Shot Mr. Burns? Part One," the episode concludes with a classic cliffhanger. After Mr. Burns executes his plan to block out the sun in Springfield, he finds himself at odds with nearly everyone in town. In the final moments, as he exits the town meeting, Mr. Burns is shot by an unknown assailant and collapses onto the sundial. Chaos ensues as the townspeople discover him lying on the ground, and it's clear that there are plenty of potential suspects given how many people Burns has angered with his latest scheme. The episode ends with Chief Wiggum arriving at the scene and announcing that Mr. Burns has been shot, but without revealing who pulled the trigger. The mystery of who shot Mr. Burns remains unsolved at the end of this episode, setting up the anticipation for the next season's premiere where all will be revealed — or at least that’s the promise.
