Episode Ending
In "Simpsons" Season 8, Episode 22, titled "In Marge We Trust," the episode wraps up with a couple of classic Springfield twists. Reverend Lovejoy has been neglecting his duties, leading Marge to become the town's de facto spiritual advisor. Meanwhile, Homer is on a quest to understand why his likeness appears on a Japanese detergent box. As Marge successfully counsels the townsfolk, Lovejoy becomes increasingly irrelevant. However, when Ned Flanders faces a crisis involving a pack of wild baboons at the zoo, it's Lovejoy who steps up. He uses his train hobby expertise to save Ned, regaining his confidence and his congregation's faith in him. On the other side of things, Homer discovers that Mr. Sparkle is actually a combination of two unrelated logos: a fish and a lightbulb. This anticlimactic revelation leaves him somewhat disappointed but no worse for wear. The episode ends with everything back to normal in Springfield — as normal as it gets, anyway.
