Episode Ending
In "The Simpsons" Season 9, Episode 9, "Lisa the Skeptic," things start with a routine archeological dig that spirals into Springfield's usual chaos. Lisa unearths what appears to be an angel skeleton, and naturally, the town loses its collective mind. Everyone but Lisa, that is, who remains the lone voice of reason amid the hysteria. As the town gears up for an impending apocalypse predicted by the angel’s presence, Lisa continues her quest for truth. It turns out, however, that the angel is actually an elaborate marketing ploy by a new shopping mall. The angel skeleton flies into the air with a banner reading "The End Is Near... for high prices!" revealing the entire thing was a publicity stunt. So, Springfield returns to normal—or as normal as Springfield ever gets. The townspeople brush off the incident like any other day in their odd little town. Lisa, though initially frustrated by everyone’s gullibility, eventually joins in on the mall's opening festivities because hey, even a skeptic needs a new pair of shoes sometimes.
