Season 10

In the season finale of "The Simpsons" Season 10, titled "Thirty Minutes Over Tokyo," the Simpson family takes a trip to Japan after attending a budget travel seminar. Naturally, things don't go as planned. They lose all their money and end up stranded in Tokyo, which seems about right for this crew. Desperate to get home, the Simpsons compete on a Japanese game show called "The Happy Smile Super Challenge Family Wish Show," where they're subjected to bizarre and humiliating challenges. Homer and Bart, in particular, find themselves enduring some rather slapstick forms of punishment, all in the name of winning plane tickets back to Springfield. After surviving the show's ridiculous trials, the family finally wins the tickets. As they fly home, their plane is attacked by Godzilla and other Japanese monsters—because why not?—but they manage to escape unscathed. The episode ends with them safely returning to Springfield, no worse for wear despite their chaotic adventure in Japan.
