In "Starship Poopers," a growth spurt casts doubt on Maggie's paternity, and the family goes on the Jerry Springer show.

In "Simpsonlar - S10E4: Episode 4," Homer gets a new job as a bodyguard for Mayor Quimby after he successfully thwarts an attack at a chili cook-off. This newfound position of power, naturally, goes to his head, and Homer starts taking his responsibilities a little too seriously, throwing his weight around Springfield. Things come to a head when Homer is tasked with protecting the mayor at the Springfield Pride Awards. An elaborate plan to rob the event is hatched by Fat Tony and his mob, but Homer, in his overzealous manner, manages to foil their plot despite the chaos he causes in the process. As the dust settles, Mayor Quimby decides that Homer might be a bit too enthusiastic for the role of bodyguard and politely fires him. Homer returns to his usual antics with his family, leaving behind his short-lived career in security. All is back to normal in Springfield, or as normal as it ever gets for the Simpsons.
