S10E13: Homer to the Max

In "The Simpsons" Season 10, Episode 13, titled "Homer to the Max," Homer discovers that a new TV show character named "Homer Simpson" shares his name but is portrayed as a bumbling idiot. Initially thrilled with the attention, Homer becomes embarrassed when the character is rewritten to be an even bigger buffoon. Fed up with the ridicule, Homer changes his name to "Max Power," inspired by a hairdryer. The new name brings newfound confidence and prestige, leading to an invitation to a fancy party hosted by media mogul Trent Steele. Homer and Marge attend the party, where they mingle with high society types and environmental activists. Caught up in his new persona, Max Power gets involved in a plan to save Springfield's redwoods by chaining himself to a tree. However, the plan goes awry when police intervene. In the end, Homer decides that he prefers his old life and reverts to his original name, embracing who he truly is despite the TV show's portrayal.
