Episode Ending
In "The Simpsons" Season 10, Episode 18, titled "Simpsons Bible Stories," the episode wraps up with the Simpsons family waking up in church. Throughout the episode, each family member has been dreaming Bible-themed stories during Reverend Lovejoy's dull sermon. When they finally wake up, they realize the service is still dragging on. As the family decides to leave church early to escape the boredom, they step outside and find themselves in a post-apocalyptic Springfield. It turns out that while they were asleep, the world around them has fallen into chaos. In typical Simpsons fashion, rather than being worried about the end times, they shrug it off and head to Moe's Tavern for a drink, because why not? The episode ends with this nonchalant acceptance of their bizarre new reality.
