S12E2: A Tale of Two Springfields

In "Simpsonlar - S12E2: Episode 2," Homer becomes the safety salamander, a mascot intended to promote safety after a series of accidents in Springfield. His new role unexpectedly gains popularity, transforming him into a local hero. Of course, it's Homer, so the fame goes to his head. Things take a turn when Springfield's mayor is injured during an accident at a parade. Homer, still in his salamander suit, steps in to save the day and ends up being elected as the new mayor. Naturally, this leads to chaos as he makes a mess of the job. Eventually, Homer's incompetence catches up with him. The town realizes that perhaps having a guy in a costume running things isn't the best idea. By the end of the episode, order is restored, and Homer is back to his usual shenanigans, leaving the mayoral duties to someone more suited for the role—anyone but him.
