Season 13

In the season finale of "The Simpsons" Season 13, titled "Poppa's Got a Brand New Badge," Homer becomes the unlikely hero of Springfield after he accidentally causes a citywide blackout and then manages to catch Snake, the notorious criminal. As a result, he starts his own security company, SpringShield, which quickly gains popularity among the townspeople. However, things take a turn when Fat Tony, the local mob boss, isn't too pleased with Homer muscling in on his territory. Fat Tony sends his goons to take care of Homer, but just as things are about to get ugly, Maggie steps in and surprisingly disarms the mobsters with her toy gun. Fat Tony decides that maybe it's best not to mess with the Simpson family after all. The episode wraps up with Homer being hailed as a hero once again, even though he hands over his badge to Chief Wiggum, who takes back control of the police force. The Simpsons return to their usual antics, with Springfield saved once more by the most unlikely member of their family.
