S14E3: Bart vs. Lisa vs. the Third Grade

The Simpsons buy a satellite television, which Bart spends so much time watching that he does not study for an important achievement test. He scores so low that Principal Skinner demotes him to third grade, while Lisa does so well that she is moved up to third grade. The two are placed in the same class and become rivals. During a trip to Capital City, they get separated from their class and are forced to help each other in order to find their classmates.

Episode Ending

In the "Simpsonlar" episode from Season 14, Episode 3, titled "Bart vs. Lisa vs. the Third Grade," we find Bart and Lisa having to repeat the third grade after failing a proficiency test. As expected, sibling rivalry kicks in, with Bart and Lisa both trying to outdo each other academically. Their competitive antics culminate in a field trip to Capital City, where they end up lost. Bart and Lisa manage to escape their group and try to find their way back home on their own. Of course, their adventure takes a series of humorous detours, including hitching a ride with a questionable character and ending up at a survivalist compound. Eventually, they reconcile their differences when they realize they need each other to get home safely. Back in Springfield, Marge and Homer are predictably oblivious to the whole situation until they get word that their kids are missing. When Bart and Lisa finally make it back, they're greeted with relief and a bit of parental obliviousness from Homer and Marge. The episode closes with Bart and Lisa returning to school, now more or less resigned to repeating the third grade together, having learned the importance of teamwork over rivalry.
