The Simpson family has to find temporary residence while their house is fumigated for termites. When they run out of options, they decide to become contestants on a reality show where families live in the manner that people did in 1895. The family is initially miserable, but slowly adapt to their new life, which causes the show to lose ratings. The producers decide to try to boost viewers by dumping the house in a river and forcing the family to survive in the wilderness. However, the Simpsons find a bunch of rejects from other reality shows and they attack the producers.

Episode Ending

In "Simpsonlar - S14E5: Episode 5," we find Homer getting a little too caught up in his new role as a costume mascot for the local baseball team, the Springfield Isotopes. As you might expect, Homer being Homer, he lets the job go to his head and starts to believe he's the star of the show. Naturally, this leads to some chaos both at work and at home. Meanwhile, Bart discovers that a con artist named Buck McCoy, who was once a famous cowboy actor, is living in Springfield. Buck becomes Bart's new hero, and Bart encourages him to make a comeback. Buck's return to the spotlight doesn't quite go as planned due to his fondness for a drink or two — or ten. As the episode wraps up, Homer’s mascot antics get him fired, but not before he gets one last shot at glory when Buck steps up to save the day. Buck faces his demons and redeems himself in front of a cheering crowd by thwarting a potential disaster at the ballpark. In true Springfield fashion, things return to their usual level of dysfunction with everyone more or less back where they started, but with Homer having learned absolutely nothing.
