Season 17

In the season finale of "The Simpsons" Season 17, titled "Marge and Homer Turn a Couple Play," the focus is on the marital troubles of the Springfield Isotopes’ star player, Buck Mitchell, and his pop star wife, Tabitha Vixx. Marge and Homer are called upon to provide marriage counseling, which is already a red flag considering their own volatile relationship history. As Marge and Homer attempt to help Buck and Tabitha patch things up, their own relationship starts to hit the rocks. Homer’s advice to Buck about handling marital issues seems to backfire when Buck takes it too literally during a big game, leading to a comedic disaster on the field. Meanwhile, Marge grows increasingly frustrated with Homer’s incompetence in this makeshift counseling role. It all comes to a head when Tabitha tries to kiss Homer during a concert performance, which doesn’t exactly help smooth things over. But in classic Simpson style, everything wraps up with a return to the status quo: Buck and Tabitha reconcile thanks to Marge’s intervention, and Homer and Marge make up after yet another misunderstanding. All’s well that ends well in Springfield — until the next misadventure kicks off.
