Bart goes from hero to goat on his Little League team after an error in the championship game. Meanwhile, Homer falls asleep on a bed in a department store. When he's awakened, he raves about the mattress and is given a job as a salesman.
Episode Ending
In "The Simpsons" Season 18, Episode 18, titled "The Boys of Bummer," Bart becomes a town pariah after he loses a championship baseball game for Springfield. The episode wraps up with Bart so distraught that he considers jumping off the water tower. However, the townspeople have a change of heart and rally around him, showing their support by pretending to re-enact the game and letting him score the winning run. Meanwhile, Homer becomes obsessed with selling mattresses after experiencing a fantastic night's sleep on a new one at the local mattress store. The episode concludes with Marge and Homer reconciling their differences over their mattress preferences, realizing it's not the mattress but their relationship that needs adjusting. Classic Springfield absurdity, wrapped up in the end with everyone back to their usual antics.
