Lisa befriends three teenaged Wiccans after getting lost in the woods during a game of hide-and-seek, and must clear her new friends' names when they are accused of cursing the townspeople with their supposed witchcraft. Meanwhile, Homer befriends Cletus after learning that he and his friends make their own moonshine.

In "Simpsonlar - S21E7: Episode 7," also known as "Rednecks and Broomsticks," things wrap up with a typical Springfield twist. Lisa, dabbling in Wicca, finds herself and her new friends accused of witchcraft. Naturally, the townsfolk go full Salem Witch Trials on them, because why not? Homer, meanwhile, is busy getting lost in a world of moonshine thanks to a backwoods survivalist named Cletus. It's all fun and games until Homer accidentally blows up Cletus's still. Classic Homer. As the witch trial reaches its dramatic peak, Lisa's innocence is proven when she uses science to reveal that the mysterious illness affecting the townsfolk was actually caused by mercury in the lake. The crowd sheepishly backs down from their pitchforks and torches. In the end, Lisa's brush with Wicca ends amicably, and Homer escapes another misadventure unscathed, more or less. Just another day for the Simpsons, dodging chaos in their own quirky way.
