Season Ending

In the season finale of "The Simpsons" Season 27, titled "Orange is the New Yellow," Marge ends up in jail. The episode kicks off when Marge gets arrested for leaving Bart unsupervised in a park, despite her insistence that it was just a momentary lapse. The arrest doesn't exactly turn Springfield upside down, but it does leave Homer to handle the household and the kids on his own, which is as chaotic as you'd expect. While Marge is adapting to life behind bars, Homer struggles with his new responsibilities at home. In typical Homer fashion, he manages to bumble through various mishaps, including a memorable scene where he attempts to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and somehow makes it too complicated. Meanwhile, Marge finds unexpected camaraderie among her fellow inmates, which gives her a new perspective on her situation. Eventually, the townspeople of Springfield come together to support Marge and lobby for her release, realizing that their community standards might be a bit too harsh. As you'd guess, justice is served Springfield-style, and Marge is released from jail. The family reunites with little fanfare but plenty of relief. The episode wraps up with things more or less back to normal — well, as normal as life gets in Springfield.
