Episode Ending
In the first episode of "The Boys," Hughie Campbell's life takes a dramatic turn when his girlfriend Robin is accidentally killed by A-Train, a speedster superhero, in a gruesome and public manner. This incident sets Hughie on a path of revenge and disillusionment with superheroes, who are portrayed as reckless and morally bankrupt. Enter Billy Butcher, a mysterious and somewhat unhinged man who recruits Hughie into his vendetta against the "Supes." Butcher shows Hughie the darker side of superheroes, revealing that they are not the benevolent figures they appear to be. Butcher's goal is to take them down, and he sees potential in Hughie's anger. The episode concludes with Hughie reluctantly agreeing to join Butcher. They devise a plan to blackmail one of the Seven, Translucent, by planting a bug in the Seven's headquarters. The episode ends with Hughie taking his first bold step into this dangerous world by entering Vought International under false pretenses to plant the device.
