Episode Ending
In the first episode of "The Boys," Hughie Campbell is still reeling from the horrific death of his girlfriend Robin, who was accidentally killed by A-Train, a speedster superhero, during one of his high-speed runs. While Hughie struggles with his grief and anger, he's approached by Billy Butcher, a mysterious man with a vendetta against superheroes. Butcher convinces Hughie to join him in seeking justice against A-Train and the other members of The Seven, the world's top superhero team. Meanwhile, Annie January, also known as Starlight, lands her dream job by joining The Seven. Her excitement quickly fades when she encounters the darker side of superhero culture. The Deep, another member of The Seven, sexually harasses her, showing that life as a superhero is not as glamorous as it seems. By the end of the episode, Butcher drags Hughie into his plan by showing him the corruption behind Vought International, the powerful corporation managing The Seven. Hughie hesitantly agrees to help Butcher after being offered a chance to plant a bug in Vought's headquarters. The episode closes with Hughie at a crossroads — still grappling with his loss but now entangled in Butcher's dangerous world of vengeance against superheroes.
