Sure, here's what happens in "The Boys" Season 3, Episode 1. After a tumultuous day that includes Hughie discovering that his boss, Victoria Neuman, is secretly a head-popping super, the episode wraps up with some key developments. Butcher finds himself reluctantly teaming up with Hughie again after learning that there's a weapon out there that might kill Homelander. This leads him to Maeve, who supplies him with temporary V — a drug that gives normal people powers for a short time. Meanwhile, Homelander is having a rough time managing his public image after Stormfront's Nazi scandal and is clearly losing it. He gives an unsettling speech on his birthday broadcast, where he drops the pretense of caring about what people think of him. The episode ends with Butcher visiting Ryan, Becca’s son and Homelander's biological kid. Butcher tries to maintain a connection with him despite the complex history. And as if things weren’t tense enough, Frenchie and Kimiko are caught in an explosion at a Russian mob party when they go to investigate the weapon lead. As we fade out, it’s clear that this season is setting up for some explosive conflicts.
