Episode Ending
In "The Boys" Season 3, Episode 2, things get a bit messy, as expected. Butcher's attempts to get some dirt on Vought lead him to a dead end with Gunpowder, a former sidekick of Soldier Boy. Their conversation doesn't go well, and Butcher ends up killing Gunpowder after taking a dose of temporary Compound V that gives him superpowers for 24 hours. Just your average day for Billy Butcher. Meanwhile, Homelander is busy doing damage control after his unhinged birthday speech. He doubles down on his threats and decides that if people don't love him, they should fear him. His charm offensive takes a dark turn, but that's hardly surprising given his usual MO. On the other side of the fence, Hughie is grappling with the reality of Neuman being a head-popper. He wants to tell Annie (Starlight) but hesitates. Instead, he focuses on trying to gather more intel on her connection to Vought. The episode wraps up with Butcher contemplating the vial of Compound V, hinting that he's not done playing super just yet.
