S1E1: Chapter One: The Vanishing of Will Byers

In the first episode of "Stranger Things," a lot is happening in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. After a long session of Dungeons & Dragons, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will part ways to head home. Will, however, never makes it back. On his way through the woods, he encounters something mysterious and terrifying that causes him to disappear without a trace. Meanwhile, Joyce Byers is frantic when she realizes her son Will is missing. She calls the police, and Chief Hopper takes on the case, though he's initially skeptical about its seriousness. The search for Will starts to reveal more strange occurrences around town, hinting that there's more than meets the eye. As night falls again, Mike and his friends decide to go looking for Will themselves. During their search in the rain-soaked woods, they stumble upon a mysterious girl with a shaved head who doesn't say much but is clearly significant. She’s wearing nothing but a hospital gown and has a tattoo that reads "011" on her arm. The boys take her in and hide her in Mike's basement, setting up the next chapter in their unexpected adventure.
