S1E2: Chapter Two: The Weirdo on Maple Street
Lucas, Mike and Dustin try to talk to the girl they found in the woods. Hopper questions an anxious Joyce about an unsettling phone call.
Episode Ending
After some investigation, Chief Hopper starts to suspect that there's more to Will's disappearance than meets the eye, especially when he learns that Dr. Brenner and the Hawkins National Laboratory might be involved. Meanwhile, Eleven spends time at Mike's house, getting accustomed to the strange new world around her. Mike introduces her to his friends Dustin and Lucas, though they’re skeptical of her story about "bad men." Joyce Byers becomes increasingly convinced that Will is trying to communicate with her through the lights in their house. She sets up a system of Christmas lights to talk with him, and sure enough, she gets a response that confirms her belief. Meanwhile, Nancy Wheeler attends a party at Steve Harrington's house where she gets separated from her friend Barb. Barb ends up sitting alone by the pool, where something sinister happens — she disappears without a trace. The episode closes on this unsettling note, with more questions than answers about the strange occurrences in Hawkins.
