S1E4: Chapter Four: The Body

In "Stranger Things" Season 1, Episode 4, the gang's search for Will ramps up. Joyce, still convinced Will is communicating with her through the lights, smashes a hole in her wall and discovers a fleshy, breathing portal to another dimension. Meanwhile, Hopper gets suspicious of the Hawkins Lab and decides to break in to uncover what they might be hiding. Nancy and Jonathan team up after realizing that the strange occurrences surrounding Will's disappearance might be linked to a creature Nancy saw in the woods. They start to piece together clues, which brings them closer to understanding that something supernatural is afoot. Back at Hawkins Middle School, Mike and his friends try to use Eleven's powers to find Will, leading them deeper into the mystery. The episode wraps up with Hopper discovering that the lab is hiding more than just advanced technology. He finds out that they have been involved in some shady experiments that could explain the strange happenings around town. This realization sets the stage for further confrontations as the mystery of the Upside Down continues to unravel.
