S2E2: Chapter Two: Trick or Treat, Freak

The episode wraps up with Hopper investigating the pumpkin rot mystery, which leads him to discover something suspicious going on in the fields. Meanwhile, Eleven is still cooped up at Hopper's cabin but grows increasingly restless. She gets flashbacks of her past and decides to push the boundaries of her confinement. Back in town, Nancy is struggling with guilt over Barb's death and insists on telling Barb's parents the truth, but Steve tries to convince her otherwise. Meanwhile, Dustin hears something scurrying around his trash cans and discovers a small creature, which he decides to keep and names Dart. Will is still experiencing disturbing visions of the Upside Down, and Joyce is becoming more worried as she pieces together drawings that Will made during these episodes. She realizes that they're a map of Hawkins and shows them to Hopper, who becomes even more concerned about the growing threat. As the episode closes, the mysterious Shadow Monster looms large in Will’s visions, hinting at the troubles ahead.
