S3E1: Chapter One: Suzie, Do You Copy?
Summer brings new jobs and budding romance. But the mood shifts when Dustin's radio picks up a Russian broadcast, and Will senses something is wrong.
Episode Ending
In the first episode of "Stranger Things" Season 3, we pick up with our Hawkins crew in the summer of 1985. The Starcourt Mall is the new hangout spot, and everyone seems to be enjoying the typical summer activities. But of course, it wouldn't be "Stranger Things" without a hint of the strange. Joyce is still dealing with life after Bob's death, and Hopper is trying to play dad to Eleven, who is now very much a teenager and dating Mike. Hopper's not thrilled about this development, which leads to some awkward and amusing attempts at laying down the law. Meanwhile, Dustin returns from camp with an invention he calls Cerebro, a ham radio he claims can reach his new girlfriend, Suzie. While trying to contact her, he inadvertently picks up a mysterious Russian transmission. Elsewhere, Nancy and Jonathan are interning at The Hawkins Post, where Nancy struggles to get taken seriously by her male colleagues. The episode ends with Billy working his lifeguard shift at the pool when he gets into a car accident. He stumbles into an old steelworks building where something creepy is lurking. Clearly, things are about to get much less ordinary in Hawkins once again.
