S3E3: Chapter Three: The Case of the Missing Lifeguard
With El and Max looking for Billy, Will declares a day without girls. Steve and Dustin go on a stakeout, and Joyce and Hopper return to Hawkins Lab.
Episode Ending
In the third episode of Stranger Things Season 3, things heat up as the Hawkins crew gets deeper into their respective mysteries. Joyce and Hopper head to the Hess Farm after piecing together that something strange is afoot with the town's power outages and magnetism issues. They find abandoned chemical drums, which screams "shady government operation" to anyone paying attention. Meanwhile, Dustin, Steve, and newcomer Robin continue their Scoops Troop antics at the mall. Robin's impressive linguistic skills reveal that the mysterious Russian transmission is coming from right under their noses — literally, from somewhere within the Starcourt Mall itself. They decide it's time for some espionage of their own. Elsewhere, Eleven and Max are on a mission to figure out what’s going on with Billy, who’s acting even more sinister than usual. After some sleuthing and a bit of Eleven's supernatural spying, they uncover that Billy might be connected to something much darker and more monstrous than just being a moody teenager. By the end of the episode, our heroes are all knee-deep in their separate investigations, setting the stage for these threads to eventually weave together. The mysteries deepen, alliances form, and it's clear that whatever is brewing in Hawkins, it's not going away without a fight.
