Episode Ending

So, in "Stranger Things" Season 4, Episode 1, we pick up with the gang spread across different locations. Joyce Byers is in California with her sons, Will and Jonathan, plus Eleven. She's trying to adjust to a new life while everyone else back in Hawkins is dealing with, well, more weirdness. Meanwhile, Eleven is struggling at her new school because, surprise, being a superpowered kid doesn't make you popular when you're in a new town. Back in Hawkins, Mike and Dustin have joined the Hellfire Club, a Dungeons & Dragons group led by the flamboyant Eddie Munson. Lucas is trying to fit in with the basketball crowd instead of joining his friends' latest D&D game. This creates a bit of tension because apparently saving the world together isn't enough to keep a high school group together when social pressures hit. The real kicker comes when Chrissy Cunningham, the cheerleader, starts having terrifying visions and ends up brutally killed by an unseen force in Eddie's trailer. Poor Eddie is left to deal with the aftermath as he becomes the prime suspect in what looks like another supernatural mess brewing in Hawkins. And just like that, the stage is set for another round of monster-fighting antics.
