S4E5: Chapter Five: The Nina Project

In "Stranger Things" Season 4, Episode 5, the gang continues to deal with the chaos caused by Vecna. Joyce and Murray are off on their own adventure, trying to rescue Hopper in Russia. They manage to take over a plane, but things don't go as smoothly as planned. Meanwhile, back in Hawkins, Nancy and Robin team up to investigate Victor Creel and find out more about Vecna's past. Their trip to the asylum reveals some disturbing truths about Creel's history and how it connects to the current supernatural events. They learn that music might be a way to combat Vecna's hold, which is a handy tip given what's happening around town. As for Eleven, she's still in the lab working with Dr. Owens on regaining her powers. Her flashbacks give more insight into her traumatic past at the Hawkins Lab and her connection to the other children. It's not exactly a walk down memory lane you'd want to take. On another front, Mike, Will, and Jonathan are trying to evade the agents sent after them. They hit the road with Argyle, Jonathan's stoner buddy who's blissfully unaware of how deep they're in. Their journey is bumpy, both literally and figuratively, as they try to stay one step ahead of danger. By the end of the episode, everyone is still scrambling with their respective challenges, but now they've got a bit more information—and a lot more problems—to deal with. So much for a quiet summer in Hawkins.
