S1E9: Something Ricked This Way Comes

So, in "Rick and Morty" Season 1, Episode 9, things kick off with Rick creating a love potion for Morty to use on Jessica during the Flu Season Dance. Because, you know, that's a totally normal request. Of course, Rick warns Morty about the flu thing, but Morty doesn't listen and all hell breaks loose when everyone starts falling in love with Morty after catching the flu. Rick's solution to this mess? He decides to whip up an antidote, but as you'd expect from Rick's half-baked plans, it turns people into praying mantis-like creatures instead. Rick tries again and accidentally turns everyone into these grotesque mutants called Cronenbergs. Realizing they've completely botched things beyond repair, Rick and Morty take a sharp left turn: they ditch their universe altogether. They hop to a parallel dimension where their counterparts have just died in a freak accident (conveniently), and they assume their places. The episode wraps with Morty visibly shaken by burying his own dead body and stepping into his new life like it's just another Tuesday. Meanwhile, back at the original dimension, the family goes on living their now Cronenberg-infested lives without Rick and Morty.
