S2E3: Auto Erotic Assimilation

In "Rick and Morty" Season 2, Episode 3, titled "Auto Erotic Assimilation," things get predictably bizarre. Morty and Summer witness the darker side of assimilation when a small group of aliens temporarily break free, only to be re-assimilated in violent fashion. Meanwhile, Rick's partying with Unity escalates into a wild spree that further destabilizes the collective. Ultimately, Unity decides that being with Rick is too destructive for its hive mind and leaves him a heartfelt note before departing. Rick returns to Earth with Morty and Summer, feeling more isolated than ever. The episode ends on a somber note as Rick attempts to take his own life in his garage but ultimately passes out from drinking before he can go through with it, leaving viewers with a rare glimpse of his vulnerability.
