S2E9: Look Who's Purging Now

In "Rick and Morty" Season 2, Episode 9, things wrap up in classic chaotic fashion. Rick, Morty, and Summer find themselves on a planet where the sun screams constantly. After a series of mishaps, including Rick's attempt to sell a gun to an assassin, the trio ends up being pursued by the authorities. Back home, Jerry and Beth are dealing with their own issues. They've been left at an intergalactic marriage counseling center and encounter their emotional manifestations, which naturally get out of hand. Their avatars start wreaking havoc as they grow larger and more destructive, fueled by their unresolved marital issues. Eventually, Rick manages to rescue Jerry and Beth by freezing their monstrous avatars with a device. The family escapes back to Earth just as the counseling center collapses around them. In typical "Rick and Morty" fashion, the episode ends with everything seemingly returning to normal, but not without leaving behind a trail of chaos and unresolved tension.
