Episode Ending
In "Rick and Morty" Season 3, Episode 7, titled "The Ricklantis Mixup," we start with a misleading setup about a trip to Atlantis, but instead, we're plunged into the chaos of the Citadel. The episode splits into several storylines following different Ricks and Mortys, each with their own bizarre misadventures. One storyline follows a group of Mortys in school, where one Morty decides to run for class president. Against all odds, he wins the election with promises of change and unity. Meanwhile, another Rick is working in a factory making simple wafer cookies and is caught up in a scheme to overthrow the factory's management. Elsewhere, a group of Ricks is on a police force dealing with crime in the Citadel's underbelly. They eventually uncover a conspiracy involving their own chief. In the end, President Morty reveals his true intentions by executing his political opponents and consolidating power, revealing himself as Evil Morty from a previous season. The Citadel is left under his control as he purges those who stand in his way. So, while our Rick and Morty enjoy a simple trip to Atlantis, the Citadel undergoes a significant regime change that sets the stage for future chaos.
