S3E8: Morty's Mind Blowers
Morty's memories are restored and we learn the truth in this one broh.
Episode Ending
In "Rick and Morty" Season 3, Episode 8, we find ourselves embroiled in a whodunit-style murder mystery at a fancy intergalactic spa. Rick and Morty end up on a luxury spaceship where they encounter the Vindicators, a superhero team with whom they've had some history. Things take a dark turn when the Vindicators start getting picked off one by one in a series of traps and puzzles that are suspiciously familiar. As it turns out, the culprit behind the chaos is none other than Rick himself, or more accurately, an elaborate death trap he set up while blackout drunk. Rick had left behind a twisted Saw-like game for the Vindicators, which Morty now has to navigate to save them. The big twist is that the only person who can solve these traps is Morty because he understands Rick's drunken logic. Ultimately, Morty manages to get through the deadly games, only to discover that the final challenge is resolved by choosing a button labeled "Who Is Morty's Hero?" Expecting something profound, Morty is surprised when it turns out Rick, in his drunken stupor, had meant it literally: Morty is his own hero. The episode wraps up with the surviving Vindicators less than thrilled about their ordeal, while Rick remains oblivious and unapologetic about his deadly hangover-induced shenanigans.
