Season 4
Everything and nothing makes sense when bizarre genius Rick and his grandson Morty take more interdimensional journeys that bend time and space.
Season Ending
The season finale of "Rick and Morty" Season 4, titled "Star Mort Rickturn of the Jerri," kicks off with the return of Space Beth, a character who might be a clone of Beth, Rick's daughter. Naturally, this causes a bit of family drama as Beth and Space Beth confront each other, trying to figure out who the real one is while Jerry, being Jerry, is caught in the middle with his usual blend of cluelessness and accidental insight. Meanwhile, Rick gets tangled up in his own mess, dealing with the Galactic Federation's new weapon called the New Galactic Armed Forces. He ends up in a showdown with Tammy and Phoenixperson, who has undergone quite the transformation since we last saw him. The battle is as chaotic as you'd expect, with Rick barely managing to survive thanks to some clever improvisation and a lot of luck. Back on Earth, as the two Beths grapple with their identity crisis, they ultimately decide it doesn’t really matter who is the clone. This leads to some sort of dysfunctional family resolution where they agree to co-exist without knowing which one is original — because that’s just how this family rolls. Rick, feeling more alienated than ever after another of his plans backfires spectacularly, faces the harsh reality that maybe he's not the center of the universe anymore. In the end, Rick tries to check which Beth is real using a device he had hidden away but stops himself, realizing it's better not to know. The season wraps up with Rick alone in his garage, left to ponder his choices and their impact on his family — or at least until the next madcap adventure begins.
